Dazastah
Dazastah is an Australian producer and MC, most notably known as one of the MC's of the Perth-based hip-hop group Downsyde.
Dazastah (aka Darren Reutens) joined Downsyde when he met MC's Optamus (Scott Griffiths) and Dyna-mikes (Shahbaz Rind) at Leederville TAFE, the Central Institute of Technology in the late 90's.
Dazastah is also a prolific producer, known for his MPC-infused low-slung hip-hop grooves. As well as the four studio albums he contributed to with Downsyde, Daz has produced for many notable Australian and International artists, such as Guru, Hunter, Clandestien, Layla, Pegz, Task Force, Matty B, Brad Strut, Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Sever, Complete, Briggs, Funkoars and Mystro.
Daz chose a pair of SC205's for his studio, and this is what he has to say about them: "I really like how the AMT's give good high-end transients without washing the stereo field. And I love how the 5" cone punches above its weight in the bottom-end. Great monitors".
Dazastah is currently working out of Perth's iconic "Shake Down Studios" with fellow EVE Audio user, Rob Shaker, where there are a pair of SC407's installed as the main monitors. Daz has been using the 407's for recording, engineering and mixing duties and he says, "they're just amazing. The bottom end is unbelievably tight and detailed, they are so good to work on".
